Gearing up

It's about that time where some changes will once again occur. I am excited for these changes for the most part anyways. With change always comes anxiety. Thankfully while in college I memorized a verse that got me through a lot of my days.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Yes that verse was easy to memorize because I had to read it just about every day! In a couple of weeks I will be moving to a new city, it is only 30 minutes from where I live now so I'm not moving that far. I will also be closer to my family and friends from back home. I am still a little nervous about how things will go when I move but trusting that the Lord will provide me with friendships, fellowship, and everything else I need.

I have been working less hours at work. I now have to part-time jobs instead of my full time job. This was a hard decision to make, while I did not like my full time job it meant a lot of hours and a lot of money to provide for my needs. Now I only work when I call and there are hours to pick up, risky I know! I prayed about this decision and really felt like this is what I was to do at this time. I hoping to use my extra time to minister to those around me, especially college students.

Last night at Bible Study we talked about if we really are relying on God to provide for us. For my entire life I have never had to worry about where my next meal will come from or if I will have a place to sleep. I never really had to rely on God in those areas of my life. I now need to trust God to provide me with enough hours at work to meet my needs. This is exciting, yet terrifying at the same time. Thankfully my God is greater than anything and I know He will provide for me, it just may not look how I think it should.

Glorious Day

It is so beautiful out today! It's about stinking time too! I had a chance to sit out on my balcony and enjoy the sunshine will I did my devo today and it was so wonderful, I may have even gotten slightly sun burned .... Yesterday was Easter and I was able to see my family which is always fun! I played outside with my nephews and they found "hidden" Easter eggs, although my brother didn't have to hide them to hard being that they are only 1 and 3 years old! Well this is a short post because I want to get back outside and enjoy the beautiful weather .... because you never know what kind of weather tomorrow will bring!

For God or With God?

This question is something I've been thinking about lately, am I doing things for God or with God? A lot of times I feel like we as Christians find ourselves doing things that are really good and just labeling them as things for God and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Of course we want to serve God and we should! But, if we are not including God in what we are doing, is it worth it? For example, lets say you want to lead a Bible study for your friends, that's awesome! But if you don't pray about it and seek God and have Him included in the Bible study, will it really be that good?
There are a ton of people who are very knowledgeable about the Bible but that doesn't mean they know God. Knowing about God and knowing God are two different things. I am so blessed to have a personal relationship with my God, it's hard to remember what life was like before I knew Him. I hope you know God and are doing life with God. He longs to be a part of your life, will you choose to include Him?

SNOW?

Really, Snow in April!? What is going on!! I am so ready for some 70 degree weather. I really want to go on long walks, go to the park, read under a tall tree. And participate in all the other fun summer activities. I love winter but I really have had enough now.

Brown Water?

This morning I woke up and found out we had no running water in the apartment! Thank-you landlords for NOT letting me know in advance that you would be turning the water off for a while! What a lovely surprise! After a few hours of no water it turned back on but it is brown! EWWW, who wants to wash up with brown water!? I am really hoping it clears up soon!!

On a brighter note, I have a phone interview today at 2pm with a hospital that I really want to get into! I'm so nervous and excited!! I have never had a phone interview before but I guess it's what a lot of bigger hospitals are going to these days. If I do well on my phone interview than I will move on to a face-to-face interview. I'm hoping the day will end up better than it started, with clear water and hopefully another interview!

Oh Happy Day, Happy Day!

So the below video is a song we sang in church today that I felt was fitting since today was such a wonderful day .... 80 degree weather!!! It truly was a happy day, I went for a walk and did some reading outside! I have also had this song stuck in my head all day so enjoy!

Highlighter Party and more

Once again I had an extremely busy week. I wonder if you ever stop being busy? I started my new job so I had orientation every day from 6am-2pm, I am so not use to this whole getting up before the sun thing! At least I was free in the evenings to attend some pretty fun activities! Tuesday night I went to a super hero movie night which was lots of fun, Wednesday night is 77 Bible Study, Thursday night is CRU and Friday night was watching movies with one of my roommates. Tonight I have to work but only for 4 hours so I am enjoying my day, or at least what was left of my day after waking up at noon! Last Friday night I went to a highlighter party which was lots of fun and I have a few photos to share with you!

You might be asking what is a highlighter party? As you probably noticed from the above pictures, you wear a white shirt and people write on it with highlighters and you have black lights some music and dance!

My day thus far ...

I woke up on this rainy day to get ready for church and I was running a little late. Ran out to my car and started to drive to church. I drove about 5 feet when a heard a loud popping noise while stopping at the stop sign. I than proceeded to turn the corner because I was just going to ignore the loud noise and continue driving to church however, my car had different plans. It decided it didn't want to move any more. I pulled over on the street, ran back to my apartment grabbed my roommates keys and was off to church once again!

After church I called my brother who is a mechanic, he is on is way but it's an hour long drive plus he has to bring his 3 year old and 1 year old sons because his wife his working today. I am hoping its nothing major and my wonderful mechanic brother can fix it! If you knew me, you would know that I have really bad luck when it comes to cars .... lets just say this is already my 3rd car ......

Defeated

I thought I was invincible I thought I could make it this winter season with out getting sick .... I was so close and than it hit me! I am sick, I went home early from work yesterday because it was just so miserable. I have the weekend to get better before another long work week. I hate being sick, all you want to do is sleep, sleep and more sleep. My roommates all took turns being sick and it lasted for about two weeks for each of them, I thought I had escaped it .... I guess not ..... So here is hoping to quick recovery!
